THE BUTTERFLY: Butterflies represent transformation, legacy, and renewal—a beautiful reflection of Kappa Phi’s 50-year journey.
Just as a butterfly begins as a caterpillar, Kappa Phi was planted with vision, faith, and purpose. Through dedication, sisterhood, and service, the chapter evolved—growing stronger through each season. This represents the unseen work: the late nights, the leadership development, the community impact, and the bonds formed over decades.
Today, the butterfly emerges—symbolizing 50 years of excellence, grace, and impact. Each butterfly also represents the women of Kappa Phi: resilient, evolving, and soaring while staying rooted in Alpha Kappa Alpha’s timeless principles of Service to All Mankind.
As we celebrate this golden milestone, butterflies remind us that transformation never ends. The past 50 years are the foundation—but the next flight is even more powerful.
On May 29, 2026, at Hofstra USA, all Kappa Phi and Kappa Phi alum are welcomed to attend our Sisterly Soiree. An evening of connection, joy and sisterly bond. Enjoy each other’s company, fun games and light dinner. Please come wearing denim and an AKA block letter T-Shirt.

Our community service project will be a joyful Day of Play with underserved children and families in need. The event will feature a fun, carnival-themed experience with games, treats, and on-site activities for the children. In addition, each family will receive canned goods and gift cards to support them beyond the day of the event. Families are thoughtfully selected by local elementary and junior high school educators.
We welcome and encourage everyone to participate in this meaningful community service project. We truly appreciate your support and look forward to serving our community together.
